Encourage and support people with developmental disabilities to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in our community. Implement and augment person-centered plans toward a life of opportunity, well-being, freedom and contribution. Assist people in attaining their goals and making everyday choices around community access and inclusion, personal finances, physical well-being, relationships, employment and recreation. Position offers opportunities to share personal talents. Requires creativity, excellent communication and a sincere commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities. COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT – JOB COACH
Encourage and support people with developmental disabilities to achieve their employment goals and objectives. Support takes place during job training and in group and individual employment settings. Ensures work requirements and quality standards are met. Emphasizes safe work practices. Acts as liaison with community employers, ensuring positive work relationships. Monitors and documents individual progress and appropriateness of job placement. This rewarding career requires maturity, dependability and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM – TEACHER & TEACHER’S AIDE
Immediate openings in Camarillo, Newbury Park, Simi Valley
Provide support and supervision in educational, recreational and social activities to children ages 12 to 22 in an after school program. This position provides an opportunity to share your personal talents and be creative! Teacher requires 12 ECE, CD or other applicable units, starting $11/hour. Aide requires 6 ECE units, starting $8.50/hour. Part-time positions available. |
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM – TEAM LEADER
Immediate opening in Simi Valley
Responsible for managing and supervising an after school program for children with developmental disabilities ages 12 to 22. Supervises program staff in teaching the established curriculum, including recreational activities and supportive services. Ensures appropriate standards and practices of the rehabilitation profession and child care services are being applied. Part-time position available. Teacher requires 12 ECE, CD or other applicable units and 3 units CD Admin or Mgt. |
TRAINING FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING – INSTRUCTOR
Enhance the ability of people with developmental disabilities to lead self-determined lives by providing instruction in independent living skills; including, meal preparation, money management, shopping, housekeeping, safety, transportation, personal care, interpersonal relationships, recreation and self-advocacy. Monitor and document progress toward individual’s goals and objectives. This rewarding career requires maturity, dependability and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. $10.50/hour, DOE. |
