The Arc Votes! Self-Help for Self-Advocates:

Voting is all about self-advocacy. If you have not done so already, make sure you VOTE TODAY!

Here's how:

  • Find your Vote Center: https://recorder.countyofventura.org/.../vote-centers/ and plan for how you will get there.
  • Bring a photo ID. Some first time voters may be required to provide a photo ID. Make sure to bring one just in case.
  • Plan to wait. There may be long lines to vote, so take with you anything you may need to be comfortable, like a snack, warm clothes, any medications, or a chair. You can ask the polling place for an accommodation to help you wait in line or move ahead in line, but they may not be able to grant your request.

And remember: If the polls close while you are waiting in line, you still have the right to vote. So, don’t get out of line when the polls close.
